The Rev Owen Jones has been working at Bethel since 2002. When he came he told the church he would be leaving in 2009. So it was a pleasure to attend the induction service of Rev John Williams, a former assistant minister at Bethel. (John is immediately in front of the pulpit, in the photo above)
Owen and John will work alongside each other until the end of April when Owen retires from Bethel. He & Stella hope to use their gifts in some future ministry elsewhere. The service on Sat 21st February was led by Rev Sulwyn Jones, and Rev Graham John representing AECW & Dave Norbury representing EMW took part. The charge to the minister was given by Dr Eryl Davies. His message was from 1st Thessalonians and described a gospel ministry in the words "not in word only, but with power, with the Holy Spirit & with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake". The church was packed for the service, which was followed by a tea in the downstairs vestry. John & Owen will appreciate our prayers as they labour alongside each other for the next few months |
